Oh I don't know about that the last 3 games I lost because I got suddenly overrun by the enemy and in the last game Everyone was at war with each other going at it constantly which I lost because I had to defend 3 hordes from 3 different faction one after another. Only time my cities were attack was by those neutral NPC guys, because I got sick of their mission spam. then proceeds to just city camp like the last one till he gets desertions and i faceroll. guys army moves to protect an important outpost but splits his units up so i can just take care of em one by one. i actually saw the strategic map ai do something smart. they changed targets to my undefended main city. Then once i got my main army backed up with another army. which they shouldn't even have bin able to see really. and send in my main army and they instantly decided to isntead of going for my second city. they finally started to actually move into my second city. when i finally got close and triggered them. Like the enemy didn't do a thing for so long i send in that unit (like i said in the last post) well.
They'd move units out of their cities, and back in the next turn they'd move units one direction one turn then back to the same location again the next, and repeat.

My second game, I finally figured out how to get shared vision with others, so I got to watch them move their units. And this is with that 10 turn countdown to doomsday. I played easy and won, with not one attack on any of my cities just finished normal and won, without one attack on one of my cities either. so i went to them with my 1 full stack army. On the second vanguard campaign map i was just chillfully getting used to the game when another leader declared war. the rate at which they can pump out armies really caught me with my pants down. Is there no general penalty for to many colonies? If not I think there should be, most other games like this have that to prevent mindlessly spamming Towns everywhere. I feel like I'm just wasting time looking for the perfect spots for my colony when apparently just planting colonies everywhere and as closely as possible to each other is the way to go. In the same time as it takes me to develop 2 Colonies and get my Third another AI sits on 4-5 Colonies and like 5 full stacks of Units.Īm I just missunderstanding something? Is just spamming Colonies that much more effectiv than trying to develop the economy and then getting new ones?
